What size faceplate threads for a Delta 46-701?

A friend of mine who is new to woodturning just bought a really nice used Delta 46-701. It did not include any chucks or faceplates, and he is not sure what the thread diameter / pitch is on the spindle.

He would like to purchase a faceplate or two and learn how to turn some bowls.

He lives a couple of hours away from me, and I would prefer not to make a trip just to measure the spindle. Can anybody advise what size it is? I presume that it would be a standard right hand thread?

    Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the model number of the Delta lathe you mention, but every Delta I've had experience with had a spindle thread of 1 inch x 8.

I had one awhile back mine was 1"x 8tpi. Tell him to open the motor housing and grease the shaft that the sheave pulleys move on
BEFORE running very long. It's not hard to do and only takes a couple minutes and will save him a lot of money in the long run.
