I have an American vise 5" that has a broken 3/4" spindle nut. It is not repairable again.
I am looking for a steel 10 thread square nut that is 2 inches long

I saw this thread several months ago and I'm sure that there were replies. In fact, I am pretty sure that I replied with a suggestion. Perhaps I am mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that I had a suggestion involving nuts from McMaster-Carr fastened/welded together.
David, he hasn't visited the forum since posting his question. If you look at his other post you'll see your reply.
Or he could buy a tap and make one. Or single point it on the lathe.
Have fun finding a tap that size and if you can do internal threads on a lathe go for it. That nut looks to be cast iron and Acme thread. However you might look for a steel off the shelf nut that size and make it work? Metal lathes used those on power feed.
