ADA Braille ?

I read the article in A&E mag about ADA Signage. I was wondering if anybody is using their recommended method of Braille engraving, or is that the only method for laser engravers? Do you really have to buy a program for the Braille or is their a way to at least obtain the basic bathroom, exit, stairs type stuff? Thank you!
