Travis,
This is most likely the worst thing I've seen from you. Please box it up carefully and send it to me. I will dispose of it properly so that you will not have to be embarassed by it.
What were you thinking? The excellent selection of wood and then you go and make a nicely curved hollow form with no dicernable flat spots, the bottom dropping off to infinity like it does, and the thin rim. Sometimes I wonder if you really are that interested in turning.
All kidding aside, very nice work.

WOW! That looks nice and thin!
I know I'm supposed to be inspired and driven to be able to achieve this
level of turning but, Travis, when you post these gorgeous pieces like this, I just want to throw up my hands and scream "WHY BOTHER!!!! THERE'S JUST NO WAY!!!!"
Absolutely wonderful piece Travis!
Raymond nailed it. This Travis, week after week, delivering wonderful pieces for our enjoyment. He's a Dad, I assume he has a job because he ussually starts with nice wood, the unemployed guys don't have burls and such. How's he do it?
Frank
PS: Travis, Very nice piece

Once again a Great Job!
Do you leave you bottoms a little thicker on your hollow forms for balance? I was watching a video last night and that's what the fellow did so it wouldn't tip over. His was much narrower than yours though

Wow. Travis what can I say. I love box elder wood but that is a thing of beauty. Nice job.

An elegant piece!

TURN SAFE
Thanks guys.
Frank, what can I say? I love pretty wood.
Pete, for the most part I do leave the bottoms a tad thicker. Mainly to have enough thickness when I reverse them to finish up/blend in the bottom
Eye Candy!
Only the Blue Roads
Man Travis, that's another beauty.
But I have to ask one question, have you ever done a really crappy piece that you just throw over in the corner? If so would ya just maybe post a picture of it so the rest of us might know there's hope .
I'm with Curt...throw us a bone every once in a while, Travis. Show us a sign you're human. You've makin' us all look bad.
That's another gorgeous piece of work, Travis. I'll be happy when I can do work half that nice. Thanks for showing us it can be done.
