Ok...there is a hinge issue with the existing doors..amongst other problems...
Linen Closet, Door 2, outside, hinge.jpg
There is a piece of trim...1 x 4 x 8' runs floor to ceiling...and has more coats of paint than the USS Washington's hull....As for the hinge's leaf..
Linen Closet, Door 2, inside, existing hinge.jpg
Looks like the type of hinges used on Bi-fold or Shutters....Thinking I MIGHT just cut the hinges at the barrels and try NOT to mar the trim...will replace with better hinges...

    Need to clear the mess..
Linen Closet, Door 2, need cleared out.jpg
So that I can set this item on top of the tablesaw ( blade lowered, of course)..
Linen Closet, Door 2, needs Blueprinted.jpg
So that I can sand it smooth, fill the gaps, level any high spots, sand again to 220 grit...and MEASURE all it's parts and draw up a list of parts that will build door#2 WITHOUT any gaps...I hope....I guess they call that being "Blue Printed"?

This plank...I will TRY to get Door #2's Middle/Lock Rail out of it...
Linen Closet, Door 2, Lock Rial blank.jpg
    The center section?
    Linen Closet, Door 2, Firewood.jpg
"Back home, we'd call that Kindling" one end section?
Linen Closet, Door 2, too short.jpg
Comes up about 6" too short....might save this for a Box Project, later?

    The other end?
Linen Closet, Door 2, might be usable.jpg
    is 3/4" x 6" x 16" of Good Wood....I need 3/4" x 4-1/2" x 15".....might be doable?

    stay tuned..

Monday..shop is normally closed for today...

    Tablesaw has been cleaned off....

Design change: instead of 2 pieces for the center style....use a single plank .....where it crosses the Middle/Lock Rail...turn that into a half lap joint...will see IF I have a suitable plank for that...

Bug Bomb seems to have worked...did not see any spiders down in the shop, this morning...

Will haul a couple planks to the shop, in a little bit.....killing time, because of "Shift Change" going on....too many Darwin Award Winners out on the streets, who THINK they know how to drive....from 2:30 PM to around 5 pm.....

All main parts of Door #2 have been milled for sizes required...will need a Lumber run, BEFORE I can start on #3 and #4...
    Monday's Work, 3 rails and a Stile.jpg
rain on the way, can't start up the Fire Pit for a while....
    Monday's Works, Fire Pit.jpg
Last night, 3 loads from under the Tablesaw...
    Monday's Work, warp prevention.jpg
Needed to move this over to the top of the tablesaw....
May start either the Bead Work, or a bit of Joinery, Tomorrow?

Need to beads done, before the joinery....

Single Brain Cell Sketch Up has just suggested that I paint just the insides of the doors? But, use Witch's Brew stain on the outsides of the doors.....hmmmmm..

    Brass, or...Stainless Steel hinges?

    Stay tuned...

Quick trip to the shop this morning, BEFORE any errands could be run...
A Top/Bottom Rail ( not sure which, at the moment) needed a bit of hand plane work..
Linen Closet, Door 2, smoothed out.jpg
BEFORE the beads could be milled..
    Linen Closet,Door 2, 2nd rail beaded.jpg
Does not take very long..almost as long as jigged this up...for each bead..
Linen Closet, Door 2, planes in use.jpg

Have 2 more parts to mill beads onto....then I can start the joinery stuff...
    Stay Tuned...

Something for those that hollar about "Difficult Grain"...
Linen Closet, Door 2, working the grain.jpg
    Stanley No. 3, Type 15...
Linen Closet, Door 2, bead is done.jpg
Same board, after the Stanley #45 ploughed a bead through there..

    Other "Defects"
    Linen Closet, Door 2, Jointer & Straightedge.jpg
Center stile needed an edge Jointed with a No. 6c Small Jointer...and checked with the Lufkin Tinner's Ruler as the straight edge...board also had a slight twist. so...
Linen Closet, Door 2, working it flat.jpg
    I just removed it...
Linen Closet, Door 2, being knotty.jpg
This would be the last bead of the day..
Linen Closet, Door 2, all beads done.jpg

There was a Bead Cleaner in use, today..
Linen Closet, Door 2, Bead cleaner #66.jpg
As it's cutter matched the one in the Stanley No. 45...

Need to get going on these..
Linen Closet, Door 2, next cut.jpg
But, this old body had had quite enough for one day...

    Stay tuned..

90 minutes in the shop, this morning...
    Dry fit..
    Linen Closet, Door #2, 2nd corner.jpg
    More dry fits..
Linen Closet, Door #2, clamped dry fit...jpg
And finally have all 4 corners dry fitted..
    Linen Closet, Door #2. 4 corners done.jpg
And awaiting their turn getting their grooves milled..

    Cardio Work out, for today..
Linen Closet, Door #2, Cardio workout.jpg
Wasn't any faster than my Disston No. 4 Backsaw...

Legs started to cramp up, time to stop for today...

    Ok...
Linen Closet, door parts, Page #3.jpg
Where the Lock Rail meets the Center Stile. Door #1 I joined the Lock Rail to 2 stiles, by way of Mortise and Tenons...

Door #2: Lock Rail CROSSES Center Stile as a Half Lap Joint....yet, where the beads meet at each corner, they need to be mitered.

So..there will be the "focus" for Friday's Shop Time......have to lay out the joint...cut the joint....BUT..where the stile comes through, I have to narrow it down a bit, so that the mitered beads still line up...Might be very interesting...

Might lay out the Lock Rail first?

    Stay tuned..

Ok...late night antics...New secondary fence for the Router Table....old one was getting a bit of a curve...

Ran lock rail through....no real issues....despite the so-called "Difficult Grain" it had..
Linen Closet, Door 2, working the grain.jpg
    No blow outs seen...

Some lay out work was done...will see how things go, tomorrow...
