the rubber vanes of my rotary separator are squeaking badly. i'm wondering if there's something i can lube them with... it would seem reasonable to do so, as long as the lube isn't wet and attracting dust. any thoughts?

Maybe TriFlow. It’s a Teflon lubricant.

Always use the word "impossible" with extreme caution
wax? words to make it count
Silicone spray lube does OK at not being a dust magnet. It's not very durable. I am not familiar with rubber vanes in a separator. I had an old Datsun truck that had a noisy rotary vane smog pump. A shot of silicone spray would quiet that down for several days. Thanks to an earlier SMC lube thread I have started avoiding Teflon. My concerns about Teflon were reinforced by the movie Dark Waters on Netflix.

Dupont chain saver, spray lube. Wax in a spray can, no silicone. Self cleaning, what ever that means.

My finish room is a separate building.
