Lane Acclaim Dining Table

This is a replica of a Lane Acclaim dining table, 42" round with three, 12" extensions. The original was made with walnut and oak; this one is mahogany and maple. I created the drawings from photos, so some dimensions might not be the same as the original. The slides are from Poettker, as recommended by a fellow Creeker. They are massive and slide exceedingly smoothly.







Monday, it will leave for its new home. I hope the owner likes it as much as I did making it.

Thanks all for the kind words. As Jim knows from my postings on the CNC and finishing forums, this was a pretty long and involved process, but also very rewarding.

Here's a photo from the end that shows the curved aprons and maple beading I added to the lower edge. The original had a bead, too, but I couldn't tell if it was walnut like the apron proper, or oak like the legs. I decided to use maple to highlight the curve of the aprons and to tie the legs together. This angle also shows the unique design of the leg that Lane used, where the tapered round section transitions to the square top section with a radiused outside corner.
