We have an old end table that has a drawer that sticks. I'd like to find out where it's sticky exactly. What would you use to mark the brawer with that won't harm the drawer and could be easily removed?

I would just sight it and see if there is a bump anywhere or use a straight edge to feel for it. I use Renaissance wax to lube wooden runners with. It's very inert and won't react with anything.
Yellow or white chalk. Rub it on the side or rail put the drawer back in,push it shut. Then pull it out and look for areas where the chalk rubbed off. Those will be the problem areas. Once adjustments are made, repeat until the drawer fits.

Ditto on what Lee said. Look for the transference or rubbed spots.
