Today will be a "Fetch & Carry" sort of day...
Sort through the Stash of Ash..carry a couple planks to the shop..try to find a few good blanks in them to make Drawer Fronts with..then go back upstairs, and fetch some more, and carry them to the shop....

Need 8 blanks for drawer fronts.....and need enough blanks to glue up a Bread Board edged Top panel..

Will need to move the case out of the way, for today....going to be a Tablesaw day, today....

All on a day I normally leave the shop closed....Monday.

Fetch & Carry is done...for now
8 blanks for drawer fronts
4 blanks for a panel to be glued up into the Top...saved a couple strips for the Bread Board ends..

Just got TOO HOT in the shop...closed it up..try later this evening....maybe run the #7c or the #8c later? Joint some edges, and MAYBE a glued up panel?

Fetch & Carry...first trip was for blanks for 8 drawer fronts..

2 were already 3/4" thick...the other 6 were ~4/4 and I had to resaw them down a bit..after I had ripped them to final width, and squared the ends..will need to flatten things out, later

A few passes with a plane should fix that..

2nd trip..fetch two more planks, and carry them to the shop..

So...bright and early, before it gets too hot..THIS is what I'll be doing in the morning..

Have a steel yard stick to check for any high or low spots, along the way..

All 16 drawer sides have milled cut to length, and milled to fit their openings...

Worked this morning to mill sockets into the ends of the drawer fronts..

Will work on getting Tails cut to match up to each Drawer front....

Was up of Pine 1 x 4s...have to go to Lowes and buy 3 more 1 x 4 x6' planks,,,so the drawers can have a back...

Knobs for the drawer fronts have been bought..

Trying to decide whether to soak them in some Dark Walnut stain...or just wait on the Stain the rest of the case will get..

Been working mornings in the shop, before it gets too hot...as I do not tolerate heat all that well, anymore...

Decided to cut 2 blanks for length over on the Langdon 72c...then joint the edges a bit..

And get them ready to plough a groove...

For one thing, there isn't much of a set-up with these sort of Match planes...swing the fence to make either a Tongue, or a groove...and be done by the Time I'd get the Stanley #45 ready..plus the fence is smaller than the 45's

Managed to get one of two grooves milled.

That router bit was bought at Harbor Freight this morning, along with a 30" F style clamp ( now have a pair!) and a pack of three 80 grit sanding belts...

There was one problem...it was too FAT..and would NOT fit in the hole in the router's base...hmmm...base IS plastic..we have ways

Clamp the router into the wood jaws of the bench vise...load up the router bit, nice and tight...right against the bottom of the base...turn router "on"...use the supplied Allen wrench to SLOWLY raise the base up into the spinning bit..until it is all the way through the base. shut router down....there WAS a thin ring of plastic around the shank of the bit,, cut that free. Goal is to run a rebate along both ends top and bottom, to form a tongue that matches the groove in the bread board ends..may need the guide fence, again...as I don't think the Union #41 can cut 1/2" deep grooves...
