rabbeting partial inset doors with solid recessed panels

The title is the question. I don't want to use the raised backs of the panels as a reference surface and they would interfere with a router base. I'm leaning toward running them vertically against a tall fence on a table saw or router table.

Make a plywood cutout that fits the frame and the panel drops into. The frame will ride flat on the deck of your router table or tablesaw so you can accurately cut the rabbets.
