Those do indeed look cool. Don't let any banjo players see, you will be getting commissions.
Thanks Maurice...

nickel electro plated with a patina copper electro plate finish.
I would love to hear a sound sample of the mandolins. I only know the boogie-woogie, the melody of Ashokan Farewell, and can stumble through Happy Birthday (which sort of sort of plays its self on the mandolin). I try to play lefty and upside down .
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/pVnHsI0XxWw.....this is the one with the second sound board attached with a spacer beneath the top sound board. kinda like a turkey call

Nice tone and lots of sustain. The F holes are very elegant and your work is meticulous.
Thanks Maurice. Tom asked about the metal sculptures. I found a photo of the area where I worked metal. I have a plasma cam with a thermodynamic plasma torch set up (poor man's plasma table) and that's what I used to cut out the shapes and weld them together. I used guitar strings, .045 mig wire, piano string and ss wire on the last one.The large oval shape has 88 piano strings (mig wire). All of these black metal sculptures have an auto finish and they all make a sound.
....on another note, ...I kept the computer for the plasma cam in an old refrigerator next to the plasma table. It was on the middle shelf and to program I would open the fridge door and sit on a short mechanics roll around stool. It looked to people that didnt know any better that I was very intense on what was in the fridge
.....btw I'll bet the plasma cam software language is a lot like the cutting tables you guys use.

here's one of the metal pumpkins finished that you see in the pic

Laurence, have you ever seen any of the "National Resophonic" Mandolins, Guitars, Cash Registers etc. Your mandolin design could accommodate a spun aluminum cone.
yeah... I'm breaking my brain trying to remember where....spun aluminum, Ive watch a couple videos
dang..I'm thinking Mark Knopfler maybe??
Yes! it is an awesome sound. My Nephew is asking for a resonator guitar. Stewart Macdonald and others have the parts. Your turned mandolin body brings the idea to mind.
