Rustic? Well, no. That was not my intention!
Thanks Robert, I have some pics, and you can find more on the sash construction here

After 28 years of marriage my wife does not have to go down to the basement and bring up the china in boxes.hutch with china.jpg
Happy wife, happy you!
I'm thinking if you have heirs, there will be a brawl over it.
As others have said- beautiful sash. Did you make the crown with molding planes as well?
Yes, Liam, I roughed out the profile with a plow plane and then used a #16 round I got from Jim Bode tools for $30.molding.jpg

The finish looks like naturally aged Cherry. Did you leave it in the sun to get that beautiful color or did you use a stain/dye?
Art, I handplaned most of the wood, brushed 2 layers of just over 1lb cut clear shellac, sanded with stearated 400 grit paper, wiped on 3 layers of 1lb shellac, then 2 coates of Minwax paste wax. I took a pic on my iphone portrait setting & I think the lighting worked out. For the doors I got some quartersawn cherry that was stacked for many years & hand a tight grain & deeper color throughout.

Beautiful work. It will only improve with age.

Very nice work.

Lee, Charlie...thanks for the positive feedback. I started this in June & enjoyed the mostly handtool work over the next 7 months. I am glad it all came together before the year ended. Happy New Year!
Very nice. I like how you combined clean lines with a reference to the past.
