I wish the problem with editing posts with Forum Runner would get fixed.

Great solution Bill. I usually take the Neanderthal approach and get it moving with the claw hammer.
Gloat... gloat... gloat... gloat... gloat...
Now my PWBS-14CS CAME with a nice handle on the pin... That's what you get when you buy REAL tools...

I just took the pin out of my GO555 and now leave it in a drawer.
No PHD, but I have a DD 214
Geez some of you guys must really have that sucker in there or conversely got tired of dealing with it. I can't say that I have ever thought getting it out was much of a problem....more of an inconvenience for about a minute. My small bandsaw pin is not hard to move and the 14" bandsaw pin has a handle. Nice way to deal with it if it is a bother though....good idea.
I would not be leaving it out of there though. Not in favor of that one.
Bill nice and concgrats saw that tip of yours in the magazine Woodsmith
Sometimes the pin on my old 14" Delta BS will stick. But a light, judicious application of hammer claws easily loosens it "finger loose"....
Of course it is... On the other hand, when you add in the cost of the Carter guides and tension release... Is it still cheaper???

Nice fix. Just watch out if you have a small, messy (real messy) shop. I have bumped into that pin squeezing buy the bandsaw a few times. That little pin sticking out looks like it would stick me good. Of course if you have a large shop and can clear the bandsaw easily it is most likely no issue ....John
I keep the pin pointed down all the time, the pin is just long enough that it will stick above the table so it will always remind me to tun it down.
My shop is not very large, 12' x 16' and with the band saw, table saw, drill press, router table, sander and a bench I don't have all that much room.
