Here is a 4' x 8' MDO sign. I made two signs to cover an existing sign. This bit me square in the butt. I was directed to use MDO and use urethane for protectant. NEVER again. I had to match the colors specified. I used a wonderful product called Mathews only sold from sign suppliers. Mathews paints can match any color on the planet, dead on. I failed, however, to use the proper undercoat on the edges of the MDO and the paint "lifted " the undercoat and I had to do the whole thing over. Now, the green substraight was a pre-undercoated MDO board that "took " the Matthews finish very well. Plexiglas or aluminum for the cutouts would have been a far better choice. I've made enought mistakes for the both of us, Doug.
