Interesting post over on the CarveWright Forum tonight that I had never seen but wanted to share here....
V Carved on I am betting something like Corian then color filled with with this clay then baked in a oven then sanded flush.... Interesting concept.... Similar to Corian Glue.... Worth a look if you do Coasters and the likes.....

"Sold under the trade names of Fimo Clay or Sculpty and available in a generous range of colors, upon baking @ 230 for 30 minutes, it becomes quite hard. From there is is a simple matter of sanding the excess off. I had to admit, it looked great!
I found both products at Hobby Lobby and Micheals, in the craft sections. Used the Fimo clay, which was $1.25 for a block app .5" x 2" x 2"
Inexpensive and produced the "inlaid" look.
