Twenty years ago I transferred to a group in our company that was starting a new venture that was even new to the industries we served. We were in the field using prototype equipment and basically "inventing" the equipment and service we were providing. The shortened quote above was our creed. Lots of struggles and war stories but to make it short, the five of us in that group kept plugging to that creed and what we "invented" is now an industry standard.

That's good stuff and inspirational too. BTW one of my sons lives in Seabrook. Ike almost took him out but by a hair... Dad had a sailboat at Seabrook Marina back in the 80's. We'd sail all around the bay or Redfish island. Don't miss Houston traffic or non-stop heat but miss the people and my native country (not state).

My dad, the ultimate do-it-yourselfer always said about his mistakes, "an amateur won't notice and a professional won't say anything".

My favorite: 'Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it."

"The opinions expressed by the husband of this household are not necessarily those of the management."

And a variation of an earlier one,

"Tis better to be silent and thought the fool, than speak and leave no doubt"

    The bachelors creed,

"Why pick it up if you can step over it"
