    Thank you both!

The ebony was shavings that I saved from making a pen. I cut a groove and then attempted to pulverize the shavings as best as possible, then filled in the groove, and drizzled CA glue over it all. Turned it back down to even, then repeated again, to fill in the voids. I taped off the groove with painters tape to minimize any glue getting on the wood and staining it.

Gordon, the grain pattern in the bowl is perfect! The ebony accent ring in the rim really looks nice. Great piece!

I used some System Three epoxy to do inlay on an experimental little bowl, and I think you would like it. Expensive, but it does a great job. If you are going to try something similar again, you may want to consider it. Given the cost of CA, it may not be all that much more.

Gordon - very impressive bowl! Love the rich color of the Padauk and the black accent ring helps highlight the color as well as the form! Very nice work! Thanks for sharing!

Gordan it is simple but elegant. Excellent work. It is a work that you SHOULD be "quite happy with".

Beautiful bowl, Gordon. It seems like it has some weight to it, which should feel good to pick up and hold.

And thanks for the tip on the ebony inlay. I'll have to give that a try sometime soon.
