    A few christmas presents

Since I've started turning figured I'd save money and make a few present. No they arent made perfect, but hey it's only been 3 months since i've gotten the lathe. First is a piece of ash about 4x10 with walnut oil. The NE walnut is 4x8 with waterlox. All C&C encouraged. Thanks

They look great. I'm a few weeks behind you and have not tried ash yet. How is it to turn? Was it dry or green? I assume dry, if you have only been at the turning thing 3 months or did you use a kiln?

Sean the ash was dry. It was easy to turn with my thompson gouge and the lathe at about 1100 rpm.

Kevin - nice work on both bowls! Really like the grain of the Ash and the bark on the Walnut! I am sure both gifts will be treasured! Thanks for sharing!
