Sorry for the poor image quality, but I had to take an in situ photo and didnt have a backdrop.
That said, this is my version of becksvoort's table. Obviously made of cherry.
The dimensions are 84"Lx37"Wx30"H Top is a hair over 1" thick. Seats 8 pretty comfortably.
Most of the flattening of the 6/4 rough cherry was done with my #7, as I didnt have a jointer wide enough to hand the 8-10" wide slabs.
This was a fun project. I am looking forward to making chairs to go along with the table, but my schedule is pretty tight and shop time has been non-existent lately.
Currently, the finish is shellac over BLO (sun-baked for a day). I will be spraying a target finish when I get around to it.
