    Can I still hang around here?????

    Hey folks,

    Dennis Peacock called me and said some folks wuz wonderin' if I had fallen off the face of the earth or something. I'm still alive and kickin', just super busy.

    We had 4 major hail storms here the last week of April. I'm a insurance appraiser in real life so I've been working 12 plus hours a day 7 days a week ever since. I typically do about 150 claims in a month. I got 500 plus since April 21. Now we are in the middle of a major house/shop remodel to boot so "Creek" time has not been something I have had much of.

    <IMG SRC="http://www.terryhatfield.com/s4.jpg">

    <IMG SRC="http://www.terryhatfield.com/s6.jpg">

    I've been taking pics through the remodeling process so hopefully in a few days I can post the results if it don't kill me first. Fat, old guy and 1000 trips up and down a ladder you know...

    I have firm dates for the 3rd Annual Central States BBq to post too. I'll get 'er done in a few days...

    Thanks,

    t

    Terry,
    I was just getting ready to send your Buddy, Dennis, an e-mail to see if he had heard from you. I did not know if the recent storms might have blown you away or if you got some place you enjoyed more than the "Creek". If you had got someplace that you enjoyed more than the "Creek" we ALL want to know about it, we MIGHT join you.
    Glad to know you're OK.

    Hey Terry, darn tootin' we was wonderin' 'bout you! Heck, I even went and cleaned my shop (most of it ), 'cuz I had missed seeing yours so much! Glad to hear from 'ya, but no, I don't believe you need to ask our "permission" to hang out here! (Leastwise, not *mine*, anyway!) You know dern well you're welcome here. I was just starting to worry that you were PO'd at US for something! Whew...Glad that wasn't the problem! Certainly sounds like you've been busy and looks like it, too! Keep us posted and next time, just take a minute or two and throw us a bone or something, just so we know you're still OK! OK?
    Cheers,

    Terry,
    I have been wondering about you as well. I even checked your profile to see your posting activity, and noticed you hadn't posted since May 20. I can identify with the busy at the real job situation. I will be working extended hours for the forseeable future, right after I return from a 10 day vacation to Europe with LOML and 8 teenagers. I sure hope I can make that BBQ. Let us know that date ASAP.

    Just make sure you get all the remodeling done before the BBQ. I am extremely dangerous with a hammer in my hand after a couple of BL's. .

    Thanks guys....It's good to be missed. My own shop is so stinking messy right now you would not recognize it. We have company coming tonite and I have already sworn my buddy to secrecy. My image would be ruined if pictures like this ever got out.....heheheheehehehehe

    <IMG SRC="http://www.terryhatfield.com/s10.jpg">

    SEE...I am human. The pile of lumber covered by the sheet metal roofing is for my new 9 X 9 addition to the back of the shop for those darn lawnmowers and such, but that will have to wait a while longer.

    Renovations.....man is that a dirty word Jim!!!! You might remember that a couple of months ago I started a garden raised bed project. The garden is next to the shop. While I was working in the garden, I leaned on the shop wall and literally fell through!!!

    <IMG SRC="http://www.terryhatfield.com/s8.jpg">

    SO...the garden project went on hold and the shop project began. When the shop was built I knew nothing of building. I contracted the shop. Some bad contractor error (Jack Daniel's construction) resulted in the siding being able to get wet both on top and bottom. I thought it was just the bottom until I stood a ladder against the wall and it went through the top.

    Cheryl and I stripped 3 sides on the shop and put up new siding. Z flashed and sealed up properly like it should have been in the first place with 2 new vinyl windows and a ton of new trim. I have new back door that still needs to be installed.

    The shop project and having a few extra bucks from the hail claims led to ordering all new windows and doors for the house. The windows are solid vinyl with low E coating and argon filled. The original 20 year old aluminum windows in the house are totally shot. The new windows and doors are going to be delivered on Tuesday. The new windows are white thus the color change on the house and shop. I'm thrashing on the shop trying to get that done and the house repainted before the windows/doors get here. We are putting tile in the main bath and the laundry room next week as well. Other than that, there's nothing going on here at all.

    Here's where I'm at on the shop right now.

    <IMG SRC="http://www.terryhatfield.com/s12.jpg">

    I have used 29 tubes of caulk on the house and shop so far and I'm not even up to the window/door replacement on the house yet!!! If anything screws up new it won't be from not being sealed up good!!! First coat of white is on the shop. Weather permitting the second coat on the shop tomorrow and start painting the house. I'll keep posting as we go along. Hopefully you guy's can share in the agony. Fat boy + ladder + 25 sheets of siding + 400 feet of cedar trim + 15 gallons of paint and primer = sore and aching body!!! If you can't tell, I'm on vacation. Perhaps I'll actually be glad to go back to work after all this!!

    Not to worry Ken. I'll be done WAY before the BBq!!!! I hope.

    Geepers...I would almost "kill" for that kind of floor space, Larry. (and Terry) But Terry's shop is NOT a mess...the floor still has a gleam to it.

    LOL...Steve!!!! No guts here. I thought I would just give everyone something to alk about.

    Larry,

    Looking good dude!!!! The TS extension turned out super and the rest of the shop too!!

    Jim,

    First you ask about renovations and then you don't even comment on them??? BTW...I can hardly walk through the shop right now so having lots of floor space does no good if it's all got something piled on it.

    Billy,

    Well hello!!! Nice to meet another Arkie...even if it's one that knows Peacock. Seriously, you gotta come up with Dennis and visit sometime. Now would be good. I got plenty of brushes, rollers and such.
