residue on the table

i recently spent a day etching and cutting ornaments out of 1/8 birch and after i got done i wiped off the residue on the table however some of it didnt come off.

can anyone recommend anything that i could use to get residue off without damaging the table

Try denatured alcohol.

I think mineral spirits would work best but I don't know why you have the problem.

Is your grid elevated off the table?

I use either MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) or DNA which ever can I grab first.

Lacquer thinner works fine, just dont't get it on the rulers, it'll remove the numbers. (Ask me how I know...).

The very best thing I have ever found, and it is not dangerous, is Crud Kutter. I use it to clean the grid monthly. It cleans all that smoky, resinous junk off of everything. The only place I have ever seen it is Home Depot. It works wonders.

I have a stainless steel flat table top with no grid and after cutting a lot of cardboard, chipboard and paper I end up with the resin all over the place and I use a paper towel with just plain old water and it gets everything off. I tried mineral turps and some alcohol but water removes all traces off my table with ease and certainly much better than anything else I have tried. It's really cheap too.
I don't know if it will remove the resin from birch though as I haven't tried it yet.
