FREEStuff 7-Jun-04: Bethlehem Olivewood Burl Pen Blanks

    FreeStuff from Bethlehem OliveWood:

The company owners of Bethlehem Olivewood, in Bethlehem, Israel have graciously donated two (I repeat, TWO) sets of Holy Land Olivewood Pen Burls to be given to TWO lucky winners in our FreeStuff program, in sets of 15 each!

These Olive Wood Burls are exquisite, beautiful, and quite remarkable. Ken Salisbury has turned several of these, the burls are the 3rd and 4th from the left in this thread. Chris Johnson has a few in this thread and this post.

A lucky winner will be drawn from our electronic hat on May 31, 2004, and again the following Monday (June 7, 2004). Winners will have 1 week to respond to this thread, at such time Bethlehem Olivewood will ship 15 olivewood burl blanks directly to the winner.

Please visit their website at www.bethlehemolivewood.net!!

Information regarding the history of the company can be found here.
The OliveWood history can be found here.

    Thumbs up olive wood

When I went to Israel some years back, more than I like to admit I fell in love with the look of olive wood. Every piece is different and looks great in any project. But I have never worked with it so I don't know how easy it is to use. This companies web site is worth a look at.

That is a truly awesome prize! I've had the great pleasure of being gifted with a few blanks and it's absolutely gorgeous and very nice to work with. Now, if I could just figure out how to get my name in that electronic hat about a couple thousand times, I'd be set! A great big THANKS to Bethlehem Olivewood for these wonderful prizes! Win, loose or draw, the next time I find myself in need, that's where I'll be going!
    Cheers,

Having been gifted with a pen turned by John Miliunas for my pastor out of Bethlehem olive wood, I can tell you that seeing it in person is a wonderful experience. Knowing the history of the wood makes it all the more special. The wood just begs to be touched and the figure is extraordinary.

I want to be the first to get his "dibs" in for these blanks just in case a non-pen turner happens to win. I want first right of refusal to either buy or trade for these .
