ISO Ideas for Apple Wood

Hello. New guy here. (Very new to the site, still kind of new to woodworking.)

I had an apple tree in my yard that had to go, and was cut into pieces, some very usable. I painted the ends (just a little too late), and there are some big branches and sections of trunk, and I'm hoping to get some ideas of what to do with the wood. There's another apple tree in the yard that will be coming down too. Both have trunks about 14" across.

For the smaller bits, do you think a random-pieced cutting board would be a good use? (I know elm is not good for that, but apple seems really hard to me.) The plywood cutting board in the kitchen cabinet is starting to delaminate after just a few years of enthusiastic use.

Apple wood can make some good turning stock. My first turned bowl was apple wood (of coarse its my only turned bowl). Here is a pic.

Yes, I've seen some incredible pictures here of apple wood bowls, but I'm not set up for that, having no lathe, or really the interest to do it in the near future, although some bowls would be a nice addition to the historical research activities my wife and I do.

I'm sure there is a local turner who might make some bowls and give you one.
An end grain cutting board sounds nice as well.
