Does any body have a source for 1 1/4 " x 8 TPI nuts?
Does any body have a source for 1 1/4 " x 8 TPI nuts?
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem
Yep.
I just go down to the local True Value hardware store. I did buy a box of 3/4x16 from MSC though.
***Oops. Sorry, I thought you asked about 1x8 nuts. Nope. I don't know where you could get those. You might look at MSC or Grainger though.
I haven't been able to find any locally, but did find them on Grainger (dot) com on page 2705. I am sure there are a lot of other sources out there.

I would try Fastenal; they have a website and quite a few stores. Most of the stores are in the commercial area of towns but still have walk in areas.
I got mine at an industrial fasteners place locally/ Be sure and specify a #7 after this size, as the #8 after this size is for oilfield use and will tighten up before you get it completely on.Is this for your lathe spindle for making vacuum chucks of different dimensions? If you have any more problems, pm me and I will mail you some. Max
I get mine from Grainger. No problems.

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.
I have had great success with google.

yeah bought some from fastenal the other day . even had them in stock . ps they aint cheap. about 5 bucks each I think.
Thanks guys for all the replies. I found them at MSC for $2.93 each on page 1912 of this years catalog.
Jim - Thanks for mentioning MSC. I never think of them and I have their catalog right here under the desk and yes they have them.
Trevor - I also found them on line at Master Carr. Thanks
Harvey - Thanks for the offer but I found them. Yes they are for making face plates for vacuum chucks etc. of different sizes for the new 3520. My old lathe was a 1 inch spindle so I have to make all new ones.

Glad you found 'em.
I was going to say that MSC, Grainger, or McMaster Carr would be more cost effective than another vendor someone mentioned. I recently did a cost comparison with one of our vendors and the [unnamed] vendor - and they were three (3) times the price we are currently paying for our fasteners. I haven't seen the salesman since I showed him that comparison.
John what Harvey is saying is that a No. 7 nut 1 1/4-8 is standard and No. 8 nut 1 1/4-8 is a nut with a interference fit.

Dennis,
Thanks for the clarification on that. I appreciate your description.
