Smile Spalted, Quilted Rock Maple platter

Made this platter from a big old Maple tree, it's just over 19" wide, with a lot of figure and spalting in it, the picture doesn't do it justice, it is an outstanding piece of wood I made it from, I still have about a dozen bowls roughed out and one more platter from it, waiting for when I get A-round-to-it .
    Any/all comments are appreciated

That's quite the platter Leo! Great form and detail work! Love the wood - the color, spalt, curl and size! Really nice work! Looking forward to your next post!

My, you do stay busy at the lathe Leo. I admire your productivity. The beauty in this wood really shows up when you enlarge the pictures. It's hard to beat spalted maple. Very nice turning.
