    Laguna Table saws

I am looking to buy a table saw and I was wondering what you thoughts ar on the Laguna Platinum series is it worth the extra 600$ from the grizzly G1023SL

How is their quality and customer service? I have heard that their bandsaws are impressive as well.

I looked at these last winter. The $1995 saw's riving knife moves up and down with the blade. The $1595 saw's riving knife is stationary. Shipping to east coast was $388. Saw looks beautiful in the brochure. Made in China and the $1995 saw cost as much delivered to Massachussetts as a Taiwan made PM2000 did.
I got a Taiwan made Jet Deluxe Xacta which also has a riving knife and under-table blade shroud.
The saw you are looking at will probably be more like $800+ more than the Grizzly.

I don't have either but my thought is that the Laguna saw is unproven. Shipping would be a killer. I hear bad things about customer service. If you want a riving knife I would probably go Jet PM2000 or maybe the new Grizzly(because their CS is so great). The Laguna may be a great saw but it is a $2000 gamble.

Woodcraft in Dayton has a Steel City with a Granite top for $1595 (I think)

Jacob, I own the Laguna TS 12" tablesaw. Had this saw since '02. I use 10 and 12" blades with 30mm, 1" and 5/8" arbor. At 2 hp has not slowed yet even ripping 12/4.

Best tablesaw I have used. Customer service is great, dealt with them a few times to upgrade a few items like the sector and worm gear and purchase a few other things.

This will be the last tablesaw I will purchase in my life time...
