    bois'darc bowl

Another bois'darc bowl that is turning brown fast 6"x2". Antique oil, buffed.
Some people call it osage orange. We call it bois"darc or horse apple
because it produces big rough apple looking fruit.

Nice little bowl Byron, we call it Osage up here in Canada, I have turned a few pieces, still have some wood in the shop waiting for me, it is kinda scarce wood around here, and even more so as turning wood.
I like turning it, though the wood gets pretty hard when it dries, love the fresh yellow color but even more the deep glowing golden brown it gets after a few years.

Byron - very nice looking bowl! Great classic shape and a nice finish! Looks like it will age beautifully!

Nice bowl. The proportions are good. I wish there were some way to keep the color. I love making the bright yellow shavings.
