Planer stand article for rotating Planer for storage

    Hello everyone,
I have seen articles on Planer Stands that rotate thje planer for storage under the working surface, but I don't remember which wood working magazine it was in. Could someone help me out and tell where to look in my collections of magazines. Thanks Chuck

I just have mine on a plywood box with casters on it. Accessories are stored in the bottom part of the box, and the corners are braced. Another box fits right over the top of it if I want to use it as a work surface, and I made the height of the top of the planer even with my table saw height so I could use the roller on top of it as an outfeed or infeed roller for the saw if I want. (I have the Delta 22-580)

I like the low height of the planer this way because its easy on the back, but it does preclude the use of most commercial roller stands. I don't usually plane really long boards so that doesn't matter to me much.

WOOD Magazine has done one or two "rotating" tool stands over time. Check in the WOODMall at WOOD Online.

I'm interested in what you find. I need to get a handle on my lack of storage and floor space too. Here's a few ideas

I believe Glenn Bradley did one and posted about it, as well as Bill Huber.

The search function works pretty decent on this forum, you might try searching on "stand rotate" as I did, or "stand fliptop", you'll get about 20 threads which might help you. I like Glenn's thread.

Here's mine:http://www.sawmillcreek.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=39951&d=1149293260 The CMS has it's own stand now. A combo sander took his place on the flip-top.
