Little belt sander, is it good for much

A little Porter Cable Guild model A-2 2"x21" belt sander recently followed me home. Is this useful? It's pretty heavy, but seems kind of narrow.

Came with some assorted belts, but I've never seen this size. Could I cut 4x21's in half?

    Thanks,
    Rich

Sounds like a very specialized tool...I wonder if it was originally intended for sanding door edges or similar? I have a 3" x 21" and even that can be touchy "floating" it on a surface. But I suspect you can find all kinds of neat uses for that tool. 'Don't see any reason why you couldn't cut down a wider belt if necessary, but you might ask Klingspoor if they have belts available in the size you need.

I have a 3" x 18" Makita belt sander. It is a pain to find belts for locally....
