Hi,

This is to report that the Hunt County Woodturners, the Dallas Area Woodturners, the Golden Triangle Woodturners from Denton, friend Don Ward from Wichita Falls, and many others attended the TAT sponsored by Wood World in Dallas Saturday. There was a huge turnout of folks from all over the area. Craig Fyock and the Wood World crew treated everyone to a great place to turn, with 18 lathes going in the air conditioned store. They provided donuts, hot dogs and drinks for all. Tentative count was around 300 pens turned in 6.5 hours. They had a contest with prizes for the best pen turned, best finish, best blank, best of show, and club with the most turners present. (Hunt County Woodturners won that one!) That made for some really amazing pens!

Another cool feature of the day was a meeting of the DFW Scrollers at the store. They provided a box of crosses made with a scroll saw to be inserted in the baggies with each pen. Wonderful touch!

A Channel 11 television crew was there to provide a blurb for the news that evening and night. All in all, it was a great day for the FPP! Thanks, Wood World!
