    New Carver....

I have been carving only a month or so but am really enjoying it. Recently set up a carving area in my basement. Something I can do in the cold of winter and intense heat of the summer. Here are a couple of my first carvings...

A beginners boot project, A Mike Shipley pattern Snowman and a beginners Old World Santa project... still finishing the paint on it. Glad to see a carvers forum here. I like to make boxes and small turnings and such when I am out in the big shop.

Cory, very nice - all of the carvings look great, only 1 month ? very impressive

I plan on learning to carve in the near future, mostly geared around period furniture.

Thanks Howie, I am having a lot of fun with it. I do want to learn how to chip carve and use it on my boxes.
