deal on bosch 10.8 volt impact driver

Went by lowes the other evening & found that they had the bosch 10.8 volt impacter on sale with bonus flashlight for $116.00. They had the impacter without the flashlight for $179.00. Doesn,t make sense but with the flashlight seems like a good deal.

    Bruce,

Where are you located? Can you attach a copy of the receipt?

    Thanks,

Betting that $116 was for the PS20 and not the PS40 but maybe someone made a mistake. Sweet deal. I need a deal on the PS20.

I went to the CPO Bosch site and did a PS20 (refurbished). It was less than $90, I think.

I do appreciate that it is a handy size.

However, $180 is a LOT. $116 is quite good, but do realize this: there's no clutch. The only way to control the torque is by just depressing the trigger less and guessing when the fastner is tight enough. It will never be the same way twice.

Therefore, impact drivers are better for rouger jobs.

If you are careful, they are outstanding for brass screws, since they tend not to strip as much because the torque is applied in small hits instead of a steady twist.

The Ryobi 18V impact driver is $70. You'd still need batts & a charger, but then you're into the whole system. (which is great, IMO) it comes out around $120 and makes much more torque than the little Bosches if you need it. (I use mine for automotive work too)
