I may sound very lost but I currently use Corel Draw/Paint and now am trying to learn Photoshop Elements 6 and I am running into the problem that images wont open in Elements so what file type or extension am I to use so that the image will import?

I haven't used Elements for a long time but I seem to recall that it is for processing bitmap images. You will have to export from draw as a jpeg or some other bitmap but probably not CPT and from PhotoPaint save as a jpeg or other format that Elements recognizes.

I'm not sure about elements either, but Photoshop itself is a bitmap editor so export from Corel. The best quality (largest file) will be tif, otherwise you can use bmp, gif, png, or jpg. It should also open PDFs but I never tried that. Your vector format will be lost so if it's something you want to engrave and cut, be sure to save the vector cut lines in Corel for when you bring back the bitmap.
