Thread: glue for mirror matl.

    glue for mirror matl.

I have been asked to cut out some letters out of acrylic mirror and glue them on a different back ground. My question is what glue (or should I use tape) to use and if you have to do any prep for the mating surfaces?
Thoughts like the backing of the mirror peeling away or letters falling of do come to mind.

    thanks

There is a special adhesive for mirror that should be available where you buy the mirror acrylic (I get it at TAP plastics). They may also have it at the borgs, have not looked but the sell mirror tiles there. Other adhesives may indeed attack the back and ruin it. If they are small pieces, especially if just 1/8" (light) then a few pieces of 3M VHB double sided foam tape would hold them.
