    I need a 3hp 1phase PM66 Motor

Where can I get a good deal on a motor for my saw? I bought a used saw a couple years ago and the motor a non stock motor died.

    Any ideas?

I missed out on one a year ago here but I did not have the coin then.

Why not look around on eBay for a Leeson or Baldor?

By "died", do you mean won't start, or put out smoke before starting, or sits there and vibrates? Unless the motor is burned out, it will probably be much cheaper to get it repaired. Take it into an electric motor shop, describe the symtoms, and get an estimate. They can also give you an estimate on a new motor, though by shopping around you could probably beat that number. I bought a 3 hp Leeson for my PM 65 two years ago for a little over $300, but with the way copper has gone up I'm betting you'll spend more unless you get lucky or find a used one of the right frame type.

If it burned out, I'd look to see what kind of overload protection you had too. If you have a motor starter (not just a switch), that should have protected the motor. If it didn't, either the heaters were too big (let the motor overload before tripping) or it just didn't work. In either case you need to make some changes to keep it from happening again.
