    electical question

I have a 30 amp 220 plug for my planer and I am going to be getting a new 8inch jointer tomorrow! I was wondering if i could just tap into that line and use it for my jointer also since I will not be ever using both at the same time. The jointer has a 3hp motor.

There should be no issue running your new jointer on a 30 amp circuit as I likely only requires a 20 amp circuit.

I have my table saw, planer and bandsaw all on the same 220v 30amp circuit. Just like you, I will never run more than one of these machines at a time. It is not a problem.
