    Speaking of beer...

I went to a Brazilian Steakhouse in Philadelphia the other day. Place is called Fogo Del Chao. Excellent food. But the beer was GREAT! Even my wife and my kid's girlfriend, who both HATE beer, said it was great. This was a Brazilian beer called Nova Schin. I haven't been able to find any around here, but one liquor store close to here said they would try to order some for me. Check out your stores and see if they have it and let me know what you think. I don't work for them. Just the best beer I EVER tasted.

The restaurant is a chain. There are several in various cities in the USA.

Jim, when I was in Brazil (for a year, my sophomore year in HS), I umm, uhh, tried the two beers that were sold locally. There was Brahma and Antarctica. The Antarctica was the better of the two by far, IMO. That's all I remember--the drinking age was supposedly 18, but it wasn't enforced at all in Salvador, Bahia.

It's probably brewed by some German person who left Germany after WWII.

On my last trip to Sao Paulo our customer took us to a restaurant which had a ceramic beer tap in the middle of every table. They had small spouts to rinse your drinking glasses and a meter to measure how much beer you drank. At the end of the night they would read how many liters the table consumed and add it to the bill. I thought it was pretty cool.

Yup, trouble would be ahhh, dare I say it, brewing, if I was at that type of table. I don't drink often, but have to be careful when I do. If there is something in my hand I drink it quickly. Don't know why.

Yeah, count me as being in trouble too. I don't have a drinking problem, but I sure do have a stopping problem at times

http://www.fogodechao.com/ It is Fogo De Chao and closest to me is Beverly Hills so I don't think I'll be getting there any time soon! Looks kinda high end!

Couple of links on the Nova Schin beer:

BTW, this beer is apparently NON-ALCOHOLIC!!
