I'm sure I would've gotten used to the new scheme, but the old one does seem easier on my eyeballs.

The new color scheme did three things:
1. Increased the contrast of the actual posts.
2. Reduced the contrast of the interface, so it would compete less with the forum content.
I certainly could have made the text darker and solved all of the contrast issues (and actually did because Keith was having trouble reading it).
However, I turned the new skin on to determine:
1. Compatibility of skins with a wider range of browsers
2. The increase in load with a more stylized skin
Both of the previous tests failed- some folks emailed me with trouble viewing in Opera and Safari (Mac). Also, the new CSS (stylesheets) caused much of the forums to render slower in IE7, about a half second noticeable delay.
Thanks to all who gave feedback and participated (unwillingly or not) in this test.
