loss of power in middle of job?

I've been doing a lot of plastic lately and on occasion, in the middle of a job, the laser is unable to raster through the cap. I end up stopping the job, and starting a new one with a little more power and engraving bottom up.

I had it happen on marble once a month ago, but I think that was a bad file. Now it only happens on plastic. I'm wondering if I'm losing power in the middle of a job or maybe it's the way the plastic was made.

    any ideas?

    Inconsistent Cap Thickness

    Craig,

If you're only seeing this in plastic, it's probably an inconsistent cap thickness.

Some manufacturer's material is more consistent than others.
