I created a monster and it lives.

Finally got power to my shopbot. Then the frustration hit (G) the keyboard controls are all messed up for the way I face the machine. Then just learning to move it around and understanding it. Little things took forever to figure out. Well after 6 hours I got the top flattened (G)
Then played with it a bit. I had the great idea to drill holes in the bottom sheet of the top put in threaded inserts into it then put the sacrificial sheet on and drill matching holes for hold downs. Only problem is I never really defined a real home and the router got a bit off and I can’t match them up anymore. Well once I get the hang of it I can do it right.

here are some pics and a couple of vids

I am soooo green with envy. Use it in good health, and feed it a really fine piece of Walnut once in a while. They like that stuff.

    Nice Job Steve,

Soon you will be doing things with your ShopBot you wouldn't have believed possible in your work shop. Everyone has a few issues to iron out when they install and setup a CNC machine. I just setup a new PRTalpha96 at CNU, my second ShopBot install and you would think it would have been a snap. I had several small issues to resolve because CNU's ShopBot isn't exactly the same as mine (spindle vs router) and I had to install their dust collection from scratch. Needless to say it took a lot longer to get everything setup than I figured.

If you need files just holler, there are a few of us here at The Creek that have been collecting sbp files and project drawings for awhile and I expect everyone here will be willing to share.

    Congrats on your new ShopBot,
    Keith
