Somewhere the other day someone mentioned a rotating tool stand to allow multiple sanders or other bench tools to be fitted to one stand for space saving. A responder said that he had a Craftsman. Checking at Sears tonight I found a pic of it in the catalog. It appears to be a bench with a rotating triangular mounting block in the middle. It seems that you slide a piece to one side to allow room for the height of the tool to clear. This thing would take 5 feet of room which is way to much to save me any. What I want to mount is a Delta 12" disk sander and a Delta BOSS. Neither are large base tools, but I don't have the room for both setup and that disk sander is heavy to move around a lot.
What would be the downside to building something like this? Is it going to be "tippy" if the legs do not splay a lot from the tool base size? Has anyone got pics of something like this they've done? I did a couple of searches and didn't find anything using "rotating, tool, stand" as key words.
