That's some nice wood, Ernie! To me it looks like you could flip it over and you'd have a fairly common form for a HF... was that what you were shootin' for, or am I just warped?

Mark, yes, but that's beside the point.

You're right though, but once I got the main part of the bark off, the wood went up at such an angle that this is what I ended up with. I couldn't bring the top down any without making the crotch hole go all the way through to the mouth. I know that's done, but I didn't like what I saw in my head when I tried to imagine it on this piece. I could have turned it and put the foot on the other end before hollowing, but that would put the inclusion more on the underside and I didn't want that either. Then I thought about making a textured collar to break up that top slope, but I couldn't figure out what I wanted there and said... to heck with it, I'm finishing it here.

So I've revealed what goes through the mind of someone who doesn't know what the heck he is doing... this someone anyway.

Chris thanks. I use a Sorby Hollowmaster, but I'm real quick on the off button. It can get away from you if your not careful and do funny things. I could never down load the video on my system, so it may not be as hard as I'm making it. I am looking to build a rig though.
