    pending G0514x purchase... advice?

Unless I see something that really gets me going, I will soon be ordering a G0514x from Grizzly. Anyone have suggestions on what to look for on delivery (inspection) and suggested things to order with it? It comes with a 3/4 blade and I am considering getting a 1/4 blade with it. Or should I plan on calling and ordering Timberwolf blades from the getgo?

Doug, I gave the MM16 some serious thought (thanks again for the invite to see one up-close) but I couldn't justify the additional $$ for it.

Do yourself a favor and call Suffolk Machinery about the Timberwolfs. Describe the type of work you plan on doing with your band saw and they will describe to you the assortment of blades you likely will get the best use from. I also suggest you buy at least one extra of the blade you will use most commonly so you have a spare available...these things are disposables.

And congratulations on your upcoming saw purchase! Be sure to post photos when it arrives...

    Pending G0514x Purchase... Advice

Listen to Jim, I`ve got one and the blades that come with it was made for cutting something besides wood. I like the saw , as you stated I didn`t want to turn loose of the price of the MIN-MAX. I`m sure the MIN-MAX is a great saw but I can get by on the Griz G0514X ,you might want to purchase a light for it also. BARRY BRUNER

No need to apologize. I couldn't justify it either but in the end I didn't let that stop me. That saw looks like a pretty nice deal. That 2nd dust port looks like a smart feature too. And the color scheme is much better suited to the holidays than the MM16 anyway. You could always add a Lenox Tri-Master blade into the picture later too if budget permits. Make sure to take some pics and let us see how the Griz turns out.

Doug, you have an open invite to my humble dust factory once I get it moved in and wired! China can even come along if you like.

As for the supplied blades, it might get me started but I am betting if I order the timberwolves at the same time I order the saw, I will have the blades before I get the saw running. The special that they are currently running on the website works for me as well!

Um...white goes with anything...and really shows off the red and green bows very nicely.

But green can be nice year round, too...

Yeah but the Griz has all 3 colors right out of the box. No bows required. So ya kin leave her nekked for us tool porn afficianados (I think that's Spanish fer addicts).
