Best place to get acrylic sheet

In most cities there are plastics distributors. Some of them will have cut offs and reminants at attractive pricing. Others only want to sell full sheets. Look in the yellow pages under plastics and let your fingers do the walking. Often if you approach them as a buiness and get an account set up (even if it is COD) you will get much better pricing. For small quantities of lots of things www.mcmaster.com can be a great resource.
