    My first bowl

    I guess it didn't turn out too bad. I need to get more time in to improve my technique and hopefully start hanging out with some experienced turners so I learn something other than from a book.

    I think my photography skills are beyond hope.

    Maybe I'll pick up Bill Grumbine's bowl video...

    Maple with a bit of burl and a little quilting in it. 5 1/2" x 2".

    Great 1st bowl Gary I hate to be the one to take this responsibiltiy, but what the heck. As far as the photo, the biggest improvement you can make is to lose the blue background. Gray's seem to work well with wood.

    Nice, it looks like a nice sanding finish. What finish did you use? It looks like a gloss-lacquer to me...
