    Dresser conversion - Finish

Getting ready to convert a dresser into a bath vanity. What would be the best protection from water? Poly, spar varnish??? Thanks!!

Any varnish will provide as much "protection" as you are going to get. Same goes for many of the acrylic-based water borne products. But spar varnish wouldn't be a good choice...it's very soft. Spars (which are parts of sailing vessels) need to bend and the finish on them, consequently, needs to bend.
