I am building some storage units from melamine, and have experienced a few small chips near the edges that I would like to fill. I have never heard of or seen any filler specifically for that purpose, however.
Any suggestions?

bondo autobody filler comes in a greyish white. I have used it successfully. Not a real match.

Try the vinyl spackling.
Don't try the seam fill.
A magic marker may do the job.
Yeah!
Boy can I help you.
Try this stuff.
Impressed the heck outta me.

I worked in a shop for a while, making convention display booths. Part of what we did was template route stacks of odd shaped or sizes of malamine shelves and put T moulding on them. When I started there I asked one of thee guys what they had for a chipout, the guy said go over to the corner and get the heavy paint. Say what --huh-- what you mean the heavy paint. It was a can of semi-gloss acrylic in white, had been opened or left open so many times it was the consistancy of pancake batter, take a flat tooth pick or a sliver of wood and dip it in and dab it on and maybe smooth it out. When it dried you couldn't hardly find the chip-out, even if you rememered where it was.

It looks like it has been discontinued and they only have the brown left.Originally Posted by Randy Gillard

But don't give up.
This stuff was truly excellent.
I would give the good folks at lee valley a call to
see the status of the company. It is made , oh I forget, France or Australia
and has been around for years. I doubt they went out of business.
So if any SMC'ers from across the oceans have this product available,
Let us know, cause, I will stock up.

Try "white out", the stuff for correcting typos.
