Sorry, but I feel compelled to remove the text and pics in this post. I cannot publicly explain my reasons for doing so, but if you would like more information about the project or the reasons why it was removed, I can be contacted at SMC -at- tg3k.com.

Really nice. Good job of matching the waves so they look continuous around the box. Very attractive and useful, too. I have the same problem sometimes with know how much time "fixing" a problem rather than just doing it over. Keep up the good work.

In hindsight, always 20/20 I know, it sounds like it would have been a good idea to finish that veneered piece before you glued it in.

I'm sure your customer appreciates your attention to detail. Hopefully she doesn't just slap a plant into it which ruins the inside finish...

    Beautiful box, Vaughn.

Gears are already working after seeing this one.

Man is that right! That was probably the most valuable lesson I got from this project. I had been planning to do it that way, but then I got ahead of myself and glued the new bottom panel in place prematurely. I'll probably start pre-finishing the interior sides when possible, too. It'd save a lot of handwork.

For the price she's paying me, she can use the box to hold anything she wants. See sees boxes like this as art, and I charged an "art" price. (That's one of the reasons I was being picky about the finish.)

Thanks everyone for the comments, compliments, and birthday wishes.

Very creative! I like the look of the curves on the box. It sounds like (just like me) problems along the way actually created new ideas for the project.
That always seems to happen to me. i can't decide if that is just poor planning or just creative adjustments along the way?
