Here in Canada there was an incident where an anti-war group sent packages to the homes of 2000 soldiers preparing to go to Afghanistan. It told them that they would be war criminals if they didn't refuse to go. It made me sick to my stomach.

The soldiers that have been sent to the trouble spots in the world, be they Canadian, American, Australian, British, or any others deserve our utmost respect and thanks. If a person is politically opposed to these missions, they need to take it up with the politicians, not the soldiers.

Bob, although I wasn't alive during the Vietnam war, I want to tell you how horrible I feel that you were treated that way. After the hell that you all went through there, to finally come home and be pariahs is.... there isn't a strong enough word for that injustice.

I'm making a donation to this project through PayPal on behalf of the many Canadians who respect and give thanks to your people who are giving their lives for the safety and justice of others.

    Hi Jackie,

Will there be a collection at the 5 Barns Picnic? If not I'll get a donation in next week.

    Thanks
    Chuck

It is a good program. Haven't done any pens lately, but can say that "the check is in the mail" or at least left the mailbox today. Keep up the program.

I'm a master woodworker who started turning pens a couple of years ago. I recently heard about this project. I turned 10 red, white and blue corian pens this weekend. I hope to be able to donate 10 pens each month.

Can you give me a current address so I can mail them off on Monday?

    Thanks very much,
    Rmartin

    Donations

is the email address sales@freedompens.org still good for sending donations by Paypal?

These pens are a small thing, but I have found out that word has spread among the soldiers (in all the branches of the Service) and they truly appreciate getting them. In fact, at first, my son didn't want me to submit his name and address to the program (he has several pen / pencil sets from me already). However, when he spoke with fellow soldiers serving with him in Afghanistan, they expressed their desire to receive them and asked him to reconsider, which he did. He said he didn't realize what the pens meant until then. I guess that's because they are a normal part of his life. I submitted his name and he is now waiting for the shipment. He plans to pass all them as soon as he gets them.
