New Guy needs help

Hello folks, I've been lurking and reading, and this is a great site with what appears to be great folks.
I'm a woodworker wannabie, lots of years of tinkering, with very little actual furniture grade experience.
But that's the direction that I am heading in.
I'm also a tool freak, with a love of hand tools.
I have done some handplane tuning, and have lots more to go .

Which brings me to my question, my brother-in-law presented me with his grandfathers planes, a Stanley 5 1/4 which may be a Frankenplane but it is usable, and a #18 Sargent VBM.
Both need (a little) TLC to make them well cared for users.
Because they from within the family they are probably going to get more attention paid to them than just a user tool.
I have a grandson who may be developing an interest in using his hands as well as his head, and these will probably be passed along to him someday.

The Sargent is the hard one It has a broken tote.

I would like to just buy one, but they don't appear to be common.
I could use a pointer to gluing on a new horn (or wood block) then shaping and refinishing it.
I've run across a link to do just that, but apparently am now too tired to find it.
The same holds true on specifics about my #18.
I think that it is a Shaws Patent model, but again I tried SEARCH and am coming up empty.
Can anyone help me with these?
Also are there any members here who has and sells plane parts, mostly STANLEY, I am now getting into my stockpile of planes needing repair to actually make them ready for use.

Ray, I'm with Maurice, go to Cian's website, I can spend days in there. Highland Hardware sells some replacement knobs and totes. And then I discovered that Hock blades really do make a difference. Good luck with getting your planes into shape.

Hi Folks, thanks for the replies. I attempted to answer earlier, only to have my (new) battery back up give up the ghost locking everything up.
Nothing like buying technology to protect you, only to have it give you problems.
